Oakwood Lutheran Homes Association was founded by St. John's Lutheran Church and several other Lutheran congregations in 1948.  Oakwood thrives today thanks to the support of 37 area Lutheran churches. While Oakwood proudly serves older adults from all denominations, our values and standards are consistent with the teachings of the Lutheran church.

Oakwood is a Lutheran church-sponsored organization whose mission is to serve older persons through loving, caring Christian communities, responding to their physical, social, emotional, intellectual and spiritual needs, and to encourage a sense of independence, individuality, dignity and worth throughout life.
