Medication Consultant

Our pharmacists are available to answer your medication questions either in person or by phone during regular business hours. The Oakwood Village East campus pharmacist is personally available, on site, Monday and Thursday from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm.

Medication Assistance Program

Many older adults take several different prescription medications daily. It is often difficult to keep track of dosages, interactions, side effects and whether you have taken your medication. Oakwood Village Pharmacy can provide medication assistance devices to remind you to take your medication. Our pharmacists monitor your medication profile and work together with your doctor to make sure you are getting the maximum benefit of your prescription drugs with minimum side effects.

Medication Assessment

Medication use in older adults is complex with greater risk for side-effects. Oakwood's staff provides medication assessments to Oakwood Pharmacy customers at no charge. Medication consultants frequently find ways to eliminate unnecessary and unsafe medication use. Also, our pharmacists are skilled at reducing your medication drug costs by recommending safe alternatives and by assisting residents in enrollment in prescription assistance plans.

The pharmacy maintains complete computerized drug records for every resident and can provide these records to direct care staff and your attending physician - including your physician's orders and medication administration records.

Our pharmacy provides all residents with the added benefit of educational services and seminars. The pharmacy staff presents seminars addressing health concerns such as osteoporosis & fall prevention, diabetes, arthritis, Alzheimer's, stroke reduction, and other topics at no cost. Additional educational information is provided on Oakwood's in-house Channel 4 for privacy on subjects such as urinary incontinence, Parkinson's disease, and more. The pharmacy also offers in-house osteoporosis screening and diabetes screening at no charge.
