    Do you have a waiting list
    and, if so, how long is the wait?

    Since Oakwood Lutheran Senior Ministries operates several levels of care on two campuses, it is best to speak with a marketing representative directly so we can provide you with a specific answer. In general, there is immediate availability of independent living apartments at Oakwood Village Prairie Ridge and Oakwood Village University Woods. There is immediate availability for assisted living and memory care services.

    Can I bring my pets?

    Small pets are welcome in our independent living apartments. Assisted-living and skilled-nursing residents cannot keep pets in their rooms, but pets are welcome to visit.

    What age do I have to be to move into Oakwood?

    You need to be 55 years of age in order to move into either Oakwood Village community and 62 years of age to qualify for the HUD Program.

    How much does it cost to live at Oakwood?

    The answer depends on the size of the apartment you select and the level of care you need. Our marketing representatives would be happy to meet with you to discuss our fees.     Does Oakwood have options for seniors with lower incomes?

    As a faith-based organization, Oakwood Lutheran Senior Ministries strives to serve a broad economic spectrum of older adults. Our goal is to provide the highest possible quality of services at the lowest possible cost. Oakwood Village University Woods has 30 apartments designated for HUD recipients; however, there is a wait for these units. For more information about our HUD Program, please call (608) 230-4266.

    Do you have to be a member of a Lutheran Church to live at Oakwood?

    Oakwood Lutheran Senior Ministries is supported by 37 Lutheran congregations in the Madison area, but our residents come from a variety of faith backgrounds. The Lutheran Church drives our mission and care philosophies, but our community is open to all. Our Pastoral Care Department proudly serves and supports all faiths.

    Can I bring my car?

    Heated, underground parking spaces are available at both Oakwood Village communities. We also offer shuttle service to area grocery stores, banks, convenience stores and shopping centers.
