Independent Living Expansion Project
Our new independent living project will consist of three five-story towers, connected via 2nd floor indoor walkways, comprising a total of 71 new life lease apartment homes. Apartment homes will range between 950 and 1,450 square feet.
The building design offers residents a number of benefits. All apartment homes will feature screened porches and large windows, with most allowing for views in multiple directions. Residents can access the entire campus through indoor walkways and share a floor with only four or five other apartment homes, offering the perfect balance of community and privacy. An underground parking space and storage locker come with each apartment home.
The three towers will center on a landscaped outdoor courtyard, which will be enjoyed by all campus residents. Beautiful landscaping, plenty of seating, and outdoor recreational activities are sure to make this space a campus jewel.

New Assisted Living Appartments
We are adding 33 new one-bedroom assisted living apartments to the campus with the addition of a three-story building with eleven suites on each floor.
The new assisted living apartments will average 500 square feet, and will feature a living room, bedroom, spacious private bathroom, and kitchenette. Residents will have convenient access to dining, life enrichment programming and outdoor courtyards, and will benefit from receiving the high-quality care and services Oakwood is known for.

Enhanced Community Center
As part of our redevelopment effort, Prairie Ridge will double the capacity of our Tree of Life Chapel. A gathering space will be added just off the chapel to accommodate coffees and gatherings after services and events. The chapel will become the focal point of a new campus main entrance.
An expanded fitness room will feature new equipment and will be located on the first floor of the Community Center, alongside a fitness studio dedicated to accommodating the growing number of stretching, yoga and tai chi classes on campus.
A new café will offer residents, employees and guests an additional dining venue, and a new lifelong learning classroom is designed to accommodate lectures, programs and educational videos. The campus store and salon will remain in the heart of the Community Center in thoughtful, updated spaces.
