Ruben Salazar is a Facilities Services Technician on the University Woods campus. In this role, he works to maintain the interior and exterior of the campus. Ruben, who has worked with Oakwood Village for 5 years, says what he enjoys the most about working here is “having the opportunity of making a difference in resident's lives.” In his free time, Ruben enjoys playing his bass guitar. Oakwood is fortunate to have Ruben as a team member to help the organization continue to thrive for its residents, employees, and community.
Emily George is the Dining Room Supervisor at Prairie Ridge Campus. She is one of the leading hands that keep the Prairie Rose Inn running smoothly. Emily’s first job was working at Prairie Ridge as a Dietary Aide. Before starting her career at Oakwood Village, Emily visited her grandma, who lived on campus, often and discovered early on that she had a passion for working with the residents. Emily says, “I realized my heart and love for Oakwood and the residents is where I belonged, now almost 10 years later I have grown with Oakwood Village and I am beyond appreciative and thankful.” Emily strives to provide leadership to her growing and thriving dining team at Oakwood.
Loise Thuku, RN, BSN, WCC is Oakwood Village University Woods’ nurse staff educator and wound nurse in Hebron Oaks. As the nurse staff educator, she over sees onboarding of new nursing staff in Hebron, as well as being in charge of management of wounds. Loise started in 2005 as a CNA, then graduated as an RN and took a floor nurse position, to then be promoted to the Hebron Nurse Educator. Loise is very dedicated in her work not only towards the residents, but for onboarding staff working in Hebron Oaks. We thank Loise for all that she does and her flexibility in making sure that everyone is well educated to help our campus thrive. Thanks Loise!
